Simon Hughes Lilly has a Fine Art MA(Hons). He studied between 1975 -1981 at The University of Edinburgh and Edinburgh College of Art, (in those days they were separate entities). He focused on sculpture and printmaking. During the decade off the 1980's he continued as a full-time artist at Fleet Street Studios and Bridge Studios on the edge of Birmingham's Jewellery Quarter. In the 1990s in Devon his focus was more on book writing and lecturing on Alternative and Complementary Therapies, with colour and symbols playing a significant part of his methods. In 2014 he and his wife, Sue moved to rural Wales and with decent studio and workshop space once more his focus is on working in wood, silversmithing, print works and photography, with much digital manipulations going on as well.
